Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting a Pastoral Support Officer to help shape young lives in Birmingham. You will join a school's pastoral team supporting students across KS3/KS4, promoting attendance, wellbeing and positive behaviours, while liaising with staff, parents and external agencies.

The role focuses on safeguarding, resilience, and creating a safe, supportive learning environment. A passion for helping young people reach their full potential is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in school, youth work, mentoring, coaching or care setting.
  • Calm and approachable with ability to build strong professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to remain resilient and positive in challenging situations.
  • Passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with students across KS3 and KS4
  • Support attendance, behaviour and student wellbeing
  • Work one-to-one and in small groups with students who need additional support
  • Help students develop confidence, resilience and positive attitudes toward learning
  • Liaise with teaching staff, parents and external agencies as appropriate
  • Promote positive behaviour and help students overcome barriers to education
  • Support safeguarding procedures and contribute to a safe school environment
