Lift Maltings in Essex is seeking a pastoral assistant to join the Student Services team and help shape a caring, supportive environment where every student can thrive. You will support wellbeing, coordinate care with families and colleagues, maintain records, and assist with day-to-day duties to keep Student Services welcoming and efficient.

You will work with students, families and staff, providing first aid and contributing to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or equivalent.
• Background in motivating students and promoting high expectations.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accurate records.
• Calmly respond to medical or welfare situations, escalating when needed.
• Build trusted relationships with students, families and colleagues with warmth and empathy.
• Non-judgemental, caring approach toward all young people.
• Willing to complete first aid and medication training; basic IT skills expected.
• Experience with school MIS or working in a school setting is helpful but not essential.

Responsabilités

• Provide pastoral support to students, including those in 'at risk' groups, and help create wellbeing plans.
• Offer first aid assistance and support safe storage and administration of medication.
• Communicate pastoral, behaviour and attendance concerns with families and colleagues.
• Support school behaviour and attendance policies and monitor patterns to improve outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records on management information systems.
• Act as a welcoming point of contact in Student Services for students, parents, carers and visitors.
