Job summary

United Colleges Group is seeking a proactive Student Support Officer to join the safeguarding team. You will be the first point of contact for staff, coordinating safeguarding concerns and supporting risk assessments to ensure student welfare and wellbeing.

A passion for working with young people and strong IT and numeracy skills are essential. The role is permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week, with an Enhanced DBS Check and the closing date of 20 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting safeguarding and risk assessments.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities are essential.
• Good IT and numeracy skills are required.
• Ability to work flexibly and use own initiative, with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for staff on safeguarding concerns.
• Coordinate and case manage safeguarding cases in line with policy.
• Assist Safeguarding Leads to implement and deliver safeguarding.
• Support risk assessments to protect student welfare and wellbeing.
