Job summary

Liverpool John Moores University is seeking a part-time Student Advice Adviser to provide confidential, impartial guidance to students on appeals, complaints and disciplinary matters.

You will manage your own caseload, support students through formal processes and develop useful guidance and resources, contributing to improvements in services and student voice. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing confidential, impartial advice or support.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and maintain accurate records.
• Clear and compassionate communication, including on sensitive issues.
• Strong listening, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent, confidential advice to LJMU students on options and procedures.
• Support students through formal processes and connect them with specialist support.
• Manage own caseload, develop guidance and resources, and identify themes from casework.
