Working Hour
- Mondays to Wednesday, from 7.30am to 5.00pm (lunch break from 12.00pm to 1.00pm)
- Thursdays to Fridays, from 7.30am to 12.00pm
- Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays and school holidays
Requirement
- At least 2 years of experience in counselling or working with families with children and youth.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Candidate who has relevant experience in planning and leading mentoring, educational, or physical activities for children and youth is an advantage.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
🎯One-on-One Mentorship
- Serve as a dedicated befriender and mentor to Higher Needs Students (HNS), providing consistent, supportive guidance.
💬Targeted Student Engagement
- Conduct informal "paving the way" sessions to engage and inspire at-risk students.
- Foster grit and a growth mindset through authentic dialogue and shared narratives, helping students reframe their school experience positively.
🤸Well-being Through Activity
- Lead and facilitate simple, age-appropriate physical exercises or light activities with students to promote their mental and physical well-being.
📚Academic & Homework Support
- Monitor and ensure the completion of students' homework, providing a structured and supportive environment.
🏡Holistic Family Engagement
- Conduct scheduled home visits in coordination with the school’s Student Welfare Officer (SWO) to engage parents/guardians and better understand the student's home environment and support needs.
🚌Learning Journey Supervision
- Serve as a Teacher Chaperone for after-school learning journeys, ensuring student safety and engagement (note: excludes administrative logistics like bus bookings).
