Job summary

University College Birmingham is hiring Student Inclusion Officers for its FE College. The role focuses on supporting students facing barriers to attendance, engagement, behaviour and participation, with priority given to SEND learners. You will work with tutors, curriculum teams and specialist services to help students re-engage and succeed.

There are six roles available. The contracts run until 31 March 2027, 37 hours per week over 40 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting students with barriers to attendance, engagement, behaviour or belonging.
• Ability to listen without judgement and build positive relationships.
• Willingness to develop knowledge of SEND, safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible and responsive presence across the FE College.
• Work with Personal Tutors and curriculum teams to support students.
• Assist students to take practical steps to re-engage with learning.
• Support learners with SEND and other barriers to participation.
