Job summary

Online Education Services (OES) in Birmingham seeks a proactive Student Funding Advisor to support students with tuition fees, funding routes and payment plans. You will advise on undergraduate and postgraduate loans, sponsorships, self-funding and payment arrangements, ensuring timely and accurate outcomes.

Work closely with Finance, Student Records and Admissions to ensure smooth enrolment and timely fee collection.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance, administration, customer service or case management.
• Experience managing individual cases or enquiries from initial contact through to resolution.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail, particularly with financial or student information.
• Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines / SLAs.
• Confident handling of sensitive financial conversations with sound judgement.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one guidance on tuition fees, payment options, funding routes and sponsorships.
• Support undergraduate and postgraduate loan applications, explaining delays or failures.
• Help students set up payment arrangements and follow up until funding is confirmed.
• Respond to funding enquiries and discuss options when challenges arise (self-funding, deferral, leave).
• Monitor deadlines, issue reminders and explain consequences of missed requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of payments, loan applications and sponsorships.
• Collaborate with University Finance, Student Records, Registry and Admissions to resolve queries.
