Job description

Student Experience Team Leader

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £26,789 - £30,432 per annum (depending on experience), plus bonus and benefits

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Student Experience Team Leaders work 5 days out of 7, between 7am and 10pm. Weekends will be required on a rota basis.

You will oversee the daily operations of one of our properties in a varied role where no two days are the same. Leading a small team of Student Experience Team Members, you'll lead by example and ensure our students have a world-class experience, supporting them from their first year away from home and working with your team to exceed expectations.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting daily team activities, delegating tasks, setting targets, and working towards them
  • Ensuring the safety and security of the building and students during your shift, conducting necessary checks
  • Supporting the training and development of your team members
  • Providing a welcoming reception for students and ensuring your team responds effectively to student issues
  • Collaborating with managers and partners to support student wellbeing, especially in vulnerable situations
  • Organising events to foster an inclusive community
  • Driving local sales activity towards targets

  • Ability to delegate tasks fairly, considering team strengths and weaknesses
  • Hardworking and willing to engage directly with team tasks
  • Confident in taking on leadership responsibilities
  • Effective communication skills, including active listening and appropriate tone
