Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking a part-time Student Experience Coordinator to support a high-quality, inclusive learning journey for all students. You will seek feedback from student-staff committees, NSS and TellUS and help translate insights into improvements from induction to graduation.

In a 21-hour per week hybrid role, you will plan key activities, coordinate events, and collaborate with colleagues across the School of Medicine & Population Health to strengthen student

Qualifications

• Educated to A Level standard (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with experience responding to queries.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students in person and in writing.
• Ability to deal sensitively with students and staff from diverse cultures.
• Ability to manage own workload in consultation with colleagues and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work on own initiative and know when to refer matters to seniors.
• Proven IT skills with Microsoft and Google packages, email and internet.
• Ability to analyse and solve problems with an eye to long-term implications.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Excellent event organisation skills for meetings and stakeholder engagement.
• Understanding of the higher education sector.

Responsibilities

• Support processes to gather feedback from students and inform them of changes made in response to feedback (NSS, TellUS, committees).
• Produce student-facing materials and communications and collaborate with Digital Learning Advisors when updating tools.
• Coordinate and improve student events and community-building activities in the School.
• Support changes to student registration status as students progress through their programmes.
• Take part in committees, prepare minutes and draft agendas when required.
• Engage with student societies and academic representatives to strengthen student representation.
• Maintain engagement with students on Year Abroad or placements and arrivals for short-stay activities.
• Assist with Extenuating Circumstances, Extensions and Learning Support Plans.
• Collaborate within the Education and Student Experience Team to cover the main student reception rota.
• Build local and University networks to stay up-to-date with internal policy and procedures.
