Job summary

Interaction engineering is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in the structural engineering sector. You will generate new business, secure high-value projects, and lead the business development team.

You will identify opportunities, build relationships with developers and consultants, and lead tendering and negotiations to deliver outcomes that align with project delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Marketing, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 5–10 years in business development or commercial management within engineering, construction or consultancy.
• Proven track record of winning new business and securing high-value contracts.
• Experience managing key client relationships and leading sales teams.
• Strong understanding of construction and structural engineering sectors.
• Excellent commercial, negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to achieve business growth and revenue targets.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities across construction and engineering sectors.
• Build and maintain relationships with developers, architects, contractors and consultants.
• Manage key accounts and develop long-term client partnerships.
• Lead tender submissions, proposals and commercial negotiations.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and growth opportunities.
• Manage, motivate and develop the sales team, ensuring targets are achieved.
• Work with engineering and operational teams to support project delivery.
• Maintain sales pipelines, forecasts and management reports.
• Represent the business at client meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.
