Job summary

Wye Valley NHS Trust is seeking a part-time Therapy Support Worker (Band 3 development) to work with the acute stroke team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care on the inpatient unit.

You will work with physiotherapists and occupational therapists across acute and rehabilitation pathways, supporting independence and contributing to service improvements within a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Functional Skills (level 2) or Maths & English GCSE (grades 9-4 or A*-C)
• 3 A-Levels or Health and Science T-Level or equivalent level 3 qualification(s)
• OR level 3 apprenticeship (e.g. Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship)
• OR equivalent clinical experience/expertise within AHP profession underpinned by theory/practice
• Care Certificate

Responsibilities

• Work with physiotherapists and occupational therapists on the Acute stroke unit as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Deliver patient-centred care in the acute and rehabilitation phases of the inpatient pathway.
• Support independence and enable return to life beyond hospital.
• Adhere to SOPs, contribute to service development and supervise non-registered staff when required.
