Job summary

Wye Valley NHS Trust is seeking a Therapy Support Worker on the Acute Stroke unit. You will work with both physiotherapists and occupational therapists as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality stroke care.

The role focuses on patient-centred care in the acute and rehabilitation phases, aiming to maximise independence and help patients return to life beyond hospital. The post holder may supervise non-registered staff and will be expected to complete required competencies and

Qualifications

• Essential: Functional Skills (level 2) or Maths & English GCSE (grades 9-4 or A*-C)
• Essential: 3 A-Levels or Health and Science Level 3 qualification
• Essential: Level 3 apprenticeship option (e.g. Senior Healthcare Support Worker)
• Essential: Equivalent clinical experience in AHP field with theory and practice knowledge

Responsibilities

• Work with physiotherapists and occupational therapists on the Acute stroke unit as part of the MDT.
• Deliver patient-centred care in acute and rehabilitation phases to maximize independence.
• Support individuals to return to life beyond the hospital and supervise others if required.
