Overview

Serco Limited – Location: Thetford, Norfolk IP24 1BT – Job type: Permanent, full-time – Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday 6am–2:30pm – Salary: £29,376.38 per annum + excellent benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Scrape away weeds, manually sweep and shovel silt, and clean dog mess.
  • Remove flyposting and graffiti.
  • Empty litter and dog bins.
  • Remove fly‑tipped waste.
  • Carry out other activities designed to maintain clean streets along pre‑planned routes, operated by a Street Cleansing Operative.
  • Act as the public face of Serco’s Environmental Services team in the community.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self‑motivated and willing to undertake further training when required.
  • Work well within a team.
  • Willingness to be flexible with shift patterns and to go the extra mile.
  • Clean driving licence – required to drive a 3.5 tonne vehicle to different locations throughout the day.
  • Previous experience of working within Street Cleansing is not essential.
