Job summary

Larkmead School in Abingdon is seeking a passionate SENDCO to take strategic lead on SEND and inclusion from January 2027. Working with the Headteacher and Inclusion Lead, you will ensure high-quality, personalised support and strong progress for pupils with SEND.

Our school prides itself on an inclusive ethos. You will oversee SEND strategy, coordinate EHCPs and annual reviews, guide staff, and collaborate with parents and external agencies to raise attainment and well-being.

Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
Recognised SENDCO qualification (NASENCO or NPQ SENDCO).
Proven experience as SENDCO or in senior inclusion leadership.

Responsibilities

Oversee SEND strategy, policy and graduated approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review).
Coordinate day-to-day provision for SEND, manage EHCPs and annual reviews.
Provide guidance, coaching and training to teachers and support staff.
Collaborate with parents, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists and local authority professionals.
Monitor progress of SEND pupils and evaluate impact of interventions.
