Job summary

Larkmead School seeks a passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCO) to lead SEND and inclusion provision from January 2027. You will work with the Headteacher, Inclusion Leader, teachers, parents and external agencies to ensure high-quality, personalised support and excellent pupil progress.

The successful candidate will oversee SEND strategy and day-to-day provision, provide professional guidance and develop staff to deliver inclusive teaching.

Qualifications

• QTS in the UK is essential for eligibility.
• NASENCO or NPQ SENDCO qualification preferred.
• Strong leadership and strategic oversight of SEND.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the SEND strategy, policy and graduated approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review).
• Coordinate day-to-day SEND provision and EHCPs; manage annual reviews.
• Provide coaching and training to teachers and support staff for inclusive teaching.
• Lead multi-agency collaboration with parents, EPs, SLTs and LA professionals.
• Monitor progress of SEND pupils and evaluate impact of interventions.
