Job summary

Turner Road Surgery in Colchester seeks a proactive Practice Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership in the day-to-day running of the surgery. You will work with GP Partners to deliver business plans and ensure safe, efficient, and patient-focused operations.

You will be responsible for staff management, HR, IT systems, and compliance with regulatory standards, while driving innovation and delivering high-quality patient and staff experience.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of employment legislation and managing a diverse workforce.
• Strong HR, premises management, IT and complaint handling experience.
• Primary care experience is desirable.
• Ability to deliver a vision and adapt to NHS targets and contractual changes.
• Solution-focused approach and change management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the surgery including staff management.
• Lead primary care services to meet regulatory and contractual standards while remaining financially viable.
• HR and payroll duties.
• Provide leadership in business management, finance, planning and human resource management, including recruitment.
• Drive innovation and modernisation.
• Meet reporting requirements of the partnership and KPIs.
