Job summary

AECOM is seeking a consultant planner to join its London team, with hybrid work options from Aldgate, Bristol, Leeds or Manchester. The role offers diverse planning policy work and opportunities across infrastructure projects, with a focus on client and stakeholder engagement.

You will contribute to policy and strategy development, support local authority studies, and help prepare tenders while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience of contributing to planning policy and strategy development in a consultancy or public sector role.
• Ability to produce high quality technical reports and communication skills.
• Client focus with collaborative working approach.
• Business development mindset with client relationships experience.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planning policy research and analysis for policy projects.
• Support local authority policy and strategy development and local plan evidence studies.
• Contribute to strategic planning advice for clients and internal teams.
• Develop and manage relationships with clients, authorities and stakeholders.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and budget.
• Assist in tender preparation to win new opportunities.
