Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Planner to join our London Aldgate Tower team, with hybrid work options and potential selection of other locations. You will lead planning policy projects, guide strategy development, and manage relationships with clients and local authorities while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex planning assignments.

Qualifications

Significant experience leading planning policy and strategy development in consultancy or public sector.
Strong client focus with interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Existing relationships with clients and local authorities.
Demonstrated work-winning and new client relationship development.
Degree in Town Planning and RTPI membership or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the town planning team to deliver projects on time and budget.
Provide planning policy strategy, coordinate local plan evidence and growth studies.
Represent the organisation with clients and stakeholders at conferences and meetings.
Manage multi-disciplinary project teams and ensure quality and safety standards.
Support business development and preparation of tenders to win opportunities.
