Job summary

Aptia is seeking a commercially minded People Business Partner to support the UK business in complex employee relations and organisational change. This fixed-term role (12 months) is hybrid and can align to any UK office, ideally near Glasgow City Centre.

You will combine employment law expertise with stakeholder management to deliver change initiatives, support governance, and advise managers on people-related matters across transformational projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting complex employee relations activity within a fast-paced, evolving organisation.
• Strong experience managing organisational change, restructures and collective consultation processes.
• Sound understanding of UK employment law and employee relations best practice.
• Track record coaching and developing people managers to improve leadership capability and performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Support business transformation and change initiatives across the organisation.
• Partner with leaders to deliver organisational change programmes while maintaining employee engagement and mitigating risk.
• Develop communication and change management approaches that support positive business and colleague outcomes.
• Support the management of employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, performance management and absence matters.
• Provide pragmatic, risk-balanced advice to managers on employment law and people-related issues.
• Ensure cases are managed effectively and in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with legal counsel on complex and sensitive matters.
• Partner with business leaders to ensure people-related regulatory requirements are managed.
• Coach and support people managers to improve leadership effectiveness and confidence.
• Design interventions focused on manager capability, performance management and employee engagement.
• Act as a trusted advisor to leaders navigating challenging conversations and people decisions.
• Contribute to talent, succession and organisational development initiatives.
• Support the development and implementation of people policies and best practice frameworks.
• Identify trends within employee relations activity and provide insights to senior stakeholders.
