Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced HR Adviser to join the Strategic HR Team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The role focuses on strategic HR work, policy development, and ensuring compliance during legislative changes.

You will work in a small specialist team providing HR expertise across policy development, strategic projects, consultation, and stakeholder engagement while supporting the People Strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience providing effective HR advice across employment matters including organisational change, terms and conditions, recruitment and attendance management.
• Strong understanding of employment law and case law, and HR best practice.
• Experience developing and implementing HR policies and toolkits for managers and staff.
• Ability to build relationships with partners and stakeholders and work independently on complex projects.
• Experience delivering complex strategic HR projects and cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional HR expertise across a varied portfolio of strategic HR work.
• Lead HR policy development, project management, consultation and stakeholder engagement.
• Support delivery of the People Strategy, respond to employment law changes and address complex people issues.
• Ensure compliance, data reporting, pay and reward considerations in projects.
• Translate complex HR matters into clear, practical solutions for colleagues and stakeholders.
