Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced HR Adviser to join the Strategic HR Team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. You will provide expert HR guidance, support policy development, and contribute to a programme of strategic HR work amid legislative change.

You will build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders, deliver complex projects, and help shape the Council’s People Strategy while ensuring compliant HR practices across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience providing effective and practical HR advice across a range of employment matters.
• Experience developing and implementing practical HR policies, procedures or toolkits for managers and employees.
• Strong understanding of employment law and case law, and HR best practice.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.

Responsibilities

• Develop HR policies, procedures and guidance for managers and staff.
• Manage strategic HR projects and consultations with unions and stakeholders.
• Support the People Strategy and respond to changes in employment law.
• Contribute to data reporting, pay and resourcing, and policy compliance.
