Lawes Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join the Colchester team. You will manage renewal and new business cases, pricing risk, and work closely with brokers to support divisional objectives.

Qualifications

• Must be able to assess risk and price accordingly.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building with brokers.
• Demonstrated ability to sell and trade insurance products.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage own renewal and new business cases within authority.
• Refer cases to more experienced underwriters when needed.
• Keep accurate records of underwriting decisions.
• Follow prescribed processes and standard work.
• Support QA through case reviews when required.
• Work towards retention, conversion, rate and loss ratio targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with broking partners nationally.
• Demonstrate negotiation skills to aid conversion with brokers.
• Keep knowledge up-to-date on relevant technical topics.
• Collaborate with regional offices and other parts of the organisation.
