Job summary

Lawes Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Trading Underwriter to join its underwriting team in the Essex area. You will underwrite household and scheme products across multiple channels, working with brokers to maximize new business conversion while ensuring risks align with guidelines, delegated authority, and capacity providers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within household underwriting is essential.
• Proven underwriting experience in an MGA, insurer or Lloyd's environment.
• Experience trading with brokers and developing broker relationships.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite household and scheme products in line with guidelines and authority.
• Develop strong relationships with brokers and external partners.
• Trade effectively with brokers to maximise conversion and retention.
• Manage new, renewal and existing business activity.
• Handle referrals outside authority.
• Work towards GWP, income, conversion and retention targets.
• Support development of new and existing products.
• Provide timely responses to brokers, clients and insurers.
