Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey Ltd is recruiting an experienced Bid Manager to drive high‑value tenders and lead a bidding team. The role involves shaping bid strategy, coordinating a comprehensive bid programme, and engaging with clients and stakeholders across complex projects.

You will work under the Bid Director and collaborate with the Pre-Construction and Commercial teams to ensure timely, compliant, and competitive bid responses.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in construction or design.
• Background in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Project Management.
• Experience with different forms of building contract - JCT, NEC and bespoke.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication with senior management.
• Flexible approach and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bid team and set bid strategy.
• Develop a bid programme and chair tender progress meetings.
• Engage with clients and client teams during tenders.
• Review tender documents and address risks/opportunities with teams.
• Travel across the UK as required.
