Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey's WorkSpace division is seeking a Pre-construction Manager to drive bid strategy and lead the estimating team across high-value refurbishment and fit-out projects, often in live environments.

You will oversee tender preparation, risk assessment, and contract reviews, collaborating with Commercial, Estimating and Business Development to deliver competitive quotes within schedule and budget while enjoying flexible hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience.
• Experience of working with estimating software packages.
• Experience of working on a range of projects up to £30m.
• Experience in leading and managing a team.
• Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A Cost E

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the estimating team to achieve WorkSpace goals.
• Agree the Bid Win Strategy with WorkSpace Board.
• Oversee the preparation of bids, ensuring estimates are accurate and aligned with client expectations.
• Develop a Bid Programme and attend tender progress meetings.
• Address risks and opportunities with the team.
• Review contract documents with Commercial and Estimating teams.
• Develop strategies with Senior Management to ensure competitive quotes.
• Manage tenders from conception through to award and handover.
