Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking an exceptional education professional to join our Education Effectiveness team as a School Improvement Officer - ALN, Inclusion and Specialist Provision.

You will lead the Local Authority's approach to improving ALN provision across mainstream and special settings, working with Headteachers and partners to secure sustainable improvement and reduce variation in outcomes for learners with ALN.

Qualifications

• Lead ALN and inclusion across Wrexham's education system.
• Challenge and support schools to improve ALN provision quality and impact.
• Drive targeted improvement in settings needing intensive support.
• Quality assure specialist provision including special schools and PRUs.
• Strengthen self-evaluation, QA and improvement planning processes.
• Promote inclusive pedagogy and person-centred approaches.

Responsibilities

• Use data and evidence to identify priorities and evaluate impact.
• Develop leadership through coaching and professional learning.
• Build professional networks across schools and settings.
• Collaborate with inclusion, safeguarding, wellbeing and social care teams.
• Represent the council regionally and with Welsh Government and Estyn.
