Job summary

Newport City Council is seeking an experienced Inclusion Adviser (Inclusion and ALN) to lead the Inclusion and ALN Advisory Team and shape inclusive education across the city.

You will work with schools, settings and multi-agency partners to embed the ALN Act, strengthen practice and improve outcomes from Early Years to Post-16. The role requires strategic leadership and strong data-driven improvement focus.

Qualifications

• QTS and degree-level qualification or equivalent.
• Proven track record of raising standards.
• Experience leading ALN and inclusion initiatives.
• Strong data analysis and use of data to drive improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Inclusion and ALN across Newport schools.
• Lead and manage a specialist advisory team supporting inclusion and ALN.
• Drive the development and implementation of the Local Authority's Inclusion Strategy.
• Support schools with IDPs and person-centred planning.
• Lead quality assurance activities, including Inclusion Reviews and LRB reviews.
• Collaborate with special schools and partners to build capacity in mainstream settings.
• Develop and deliver training for ALNCOs and school leaders.
• Lead strategic development of neurodiversity provision across Newport.
• Use data to evaluate impact and inform decisions for vulnerable learners.
