Job summary

Specialist ALN School in Wales is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3–19 with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties at one of our client schools.

You will work with pupils with ALN or complex needs, providing one-to-one and small group support, and assist with personal care and mobility as required in a specialist environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with ALN or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and caring with flexible and positive approach.
• Works well as part of a team in a specialist setting.
• Committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SLD, PMLD, autism, physical disabilities and complex learning needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual development plans.
• Assist with personal care, mobility and wellbeing while ensuring dignity and safety.
• Support sensory, communication and differentiated learning activities.
• Promote positive behavior, emotional regulation and inclusion.
• Work closely with teachers and specialist professionals.
