Job summary

The Citation Group seeks an AI Architect to own the AI/Data architecture for Citations’ AI initiatives, working alongside delivery teams and reporting to the Chief AI Officer. You will steer architectural decisions that span product, security, and infrastructure, ensuring consistent standards and governance across live AI deployments.

Responsibilities

• Own architectural standards and patterns for AI systems.
• Maintain a design patterns bank: retrieval/grounding, agent orchestration, prompt guardrails, routing logic.
• Develop and apply a documented framework for open-weight vs. closed models per workload.
• Analyse token spend, cost per outcome, and caching strategies to optimise costs.
• Assess data readiness and architecture across Salesforce, Atlas, Snowflake and integrations.
• Attend and sign off on AI design elements in partner Statements of Work.
• Define scope and success criteria for AI spikes and proofs of concept.
• Provide internal architectural oversight of third-party delivery with defined standards.
• Set production quality benchmarks: observability, drift detection, guardrails, incident response.
• Ensure security and compliance are embedded from the start of initiatives and governance is maintained.
