Job summary

The Citation Group seeks an AI Architect to lead the AI/data architecture across delivery streams. You will own architectural standards, drive cross‑functional decisions, and ensure consistent model selection and cost governance for production AI systems.

You will influence without direct reports, collaborating with Product, Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure to embed AI-specific architectural voice in live builds and partner engagements.

Qualifications

• Senior — 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture.
• Hands-on experience with production AI systems (not just pilots).
• Ability to drive architectural decisions across multiple domains.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain architectural standards and patterns for AI systems.
• Own the AI-specific application of the five-layer architecture and document decisions.
• Develop a documented framework for model selection (open-weight vs closed) per workload.
• Define tokenomics, costing, and observability for AI projects.
• Provide production quality governance and security/compliance oversight from design to production.
• Act as the internal architectural counterpart to delivery partners and oversee third-party SOWs.
