Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking an Account Manager (M&E / Construction) for the Manchester area and wider North West & Scotland region. The role focuses on delivering major new business from principal contractors and main sub-contractors, with the goal of growing an assigned portfolio and building lasting client relationships.

You will liaise with internal teams, support business development, and occasionally travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Account Management within engineering, construction or technical sectors.
• Technical background in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and grow allocated accounts
• Lead as main contact for all customer account management matters
• Build and maintain long-lasting client relationships
• Negotiate and close profitable agreements
• Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts
• Communicate progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to stakeholders
• Develop new business with existing clients or identify areas for improvement
• Forecast and track key account metrics
• Handle challenging client requests or escalations
• Devise a strategy for each customer with a clear plan of action for the quarter ahead
