Job summary

Golf Holdings seeks a capable supervisor to help run a Russells Food & Drink store in Belfast, ensuring high standards of customer service and stock control. The role covers training, supervising staff, and assisting with promotions while maintaining compliance with company policies.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of supervisory retail experience, familiarity with EPOS systems, and a positive, proactive attitude with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Maths and English GCSE, Grade C or above or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year’s supervisory experience within a retail environment.
• Previous experience of an EPOS system and cash handling.
• Previous experience of stock handling and control.
• Possesses the ability to solve problems and to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Leadership qualities – to demonstrate the potential to be able to lead a team in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Have the ability to sustain consistent performance even under pressure, and willing to take on extra responsibility when required.
• Communication Skills – a proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, demonstrating good written, verbal and listening skills.
• Customer focused - maintains a professional level of customer service at all times; identifies accurately the needs of internal and external customers and works to exceed the customer’s expectations by delivering a high quality service.
• Personal Drive and a pleasant, positive and enthusiastic, “can do” attitude, demonstrating an appropriate level of motivation.
• Good standard of dress and appearance - clean and well groomed.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the Manager in staff training and development.
• Motivate and encourage the team.
• Stock management.
• Ensuring staff adhere to all Company instructions, policies and procedures in the absence of the manager.
• Ensuring the store is operated within budgets & legal obligations.
• Planning and implementing promotional activity.
• Administration, including investigating cash/stock discrepancies, payroll and marketing.
• Maintain excellent customer service with up-to-date product knowledge.
• Housekeeping standards inside and outside the store.
• Ensure premises are safe and secure at all times.
• Comply with cash handling and administration regulations.
• Follow health and safety and licensing/trading standards requirements.
