Job summary

The Yorkshire Trading Company in Thirsk invites applications for a Retail Store Supervisor on a 32-hour, four-day week, including weekend shifts on a rota basis. You will assist the Store Manager, supervise colleagues, and help drive great customer service on the shop floor.

We offer 5.6 weeks of annual leave pro rata, a workplace pension, and a store discount after a short induction. This is a part-time, permanent role with opportunities to grow within our expanding family-owned business.

Qualifications

• Flexible with hours and weekends as required.
• Experience in a retail supervisory or team lead role is preferred.
• Ability to train and supervise cashiers and replenishment staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the store manager in day-to-day operations.
• Deputise in the store manager's absence (key holder).
• Supervise retail colleagues, including cashiers and replenishment team.
• Maintain store displays, stock rotation and pricing accuracy.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle questions or complaints.
• Cash up duties and ensure correct pricing.

Job description

Due to continued expansion we have an opportunity for a Retail Store Supervisor to join the team at our brand new store in Thirsk.

The position is based on:

• 32 Hours over 4 days, to include some weekends on a rota basis

The ideal candidate would benefit from being flexible as additional hours may be required at busy times

Duties to include but are not limited to:

• To assist the store manager in the day to day running of the store
• Deputise in the absence of the Store Manager (key holder)
• Support in the management and training of retail colleagues, including cashiers and the replenishment team working on the shop floor.
• Work on store displays / stock rotation and put away
• Keep up-to-date with all of our products, services and promotions.
• Handle customer questions, complaints, and issues
• Direct customers by escorting them to racks and counters suggesting items, delivering great, traditional customer service
• Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Cashing up duties as and when required
• Ensure pricing is correct.
