Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager in Greater London to oversee all store operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation and selling, and to lead staffing and training with a focus on policy compliance and loss prevention.

You will recruit and develop employees, conduct performance evaluations, manage inventory and pricing, ensure accurate cash handling, and maintain a clean, safe shopping environment while delivering strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, instructions.
• Perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Cash handling and cashier accountability.
• Operate IBM cash register and generate reports.
• Inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and staff the store.
• Train employees; conduct performance evaluations; counseling up to termination.
• Set pay rate recommendations and advancement.
• Communicate expectations; coordinate safety and policies.
• Open and close the store daily.
• Manage ordering, inventory, pricing and merchandising to meet targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe and secure store environment.
