Job summary

Dollar General stores are seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, merchandising, and store operations while developing external candidates for the Store Manager role.

You will participate in opening and closing, ensure cash accuracy, drive customer service, and help maintain safe, well-stocked stores across shifts. This role offers exposure to store leadership and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail and merchandising is preferred.
• Strong cash handling and cashier accountability knowledge.
• Ability to recruit, hire, and train staff.
• Attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and audits.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store; ensure cash handling compliance.
• Maintain safe, clean, and well-stocked store environment.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
