Job summary

Mitie Group plc. seeks a security professional to observe, deter and arrest offenders in retail settings under the Theft Act. You will work with SOC CCTV operators, liaise with police, and build local crime-disruption networks.

Applicants should have 5 years of UK experience and a valid SIA front-line license; store detective experience is desirable. You must remain calm under pressure and excel in customer-facing roles with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent in English.

Responsibilities

• Observe, deter and arrest offenders in line with Theft Act.
• Coordinate with SOC CCTV operators to identify and stop offenders.
• Liaise with police and crime prevention partners.
• Build local networks to disrupt crime.
• Report incidents accurately and promptly; attend court when needed.

Job description

Observe, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity in line with Theft Act.

Follow ASCONE process.

Work with SOC CCTV operators to Identify and stop offenders.

Liaison with the police forces and other crime prevention partners, in the areas you will be operating, will be key to keeping up to date with crime trends in the area.

Build local network to identify and disrupt crime.

Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.

Occasionally attend court to provide evidence.

Candidate must have 5 years trackable working history in UK and a valid SIA front line license, As no two days at our client's regional stores are the same, you will need to be highly adaptable.

• You will remain calm under pressure and react quickly in challenging situations.
• Experience in a customer facing with a strong customer service background.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), preferably with a GCSE of equivalent in English
• Proactive and forward-thinking approach to work, demonstrating adaptability and a desire to improve on existing working practices.
• Strongly self-motivated individual possessing a can do attitude and a drive to learn.
• A positive, outgoing personality looking to be part of a strong and established team.
• It is essential that you are SIA licenced - store detective experience is highly desirable.
• Exceptional observational skills; ability to handle sensitive situations and to make quick decisions.
• Confidence to challenge people when necessary.
