Job summary

Marks & Spencer is seeking a Store Detective to cover Worthing, Brighton, and Eastbourne. You will work 45 hours per week, five days including weekends, observing, deterring and arresting offenders while ensuring safety and loss prevention.

Benefits include travel coverage and paid mileage; you must have an SIA front line license, a minimum of five years UK work history, and be highly adaptable to changing store environments.

Qualifications

• 5 years of trackable UK work history with a valid SIA front line license.
• Excellent customer-facing experience and service orientation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Observe, deter and arrest individuals involved in criminal activity as per Theft Act.
• Coordinate with SOC CCTV operators to identify offenders.
• Liaise with police and crime prevention partners to stay ahead of local trends.
• Attend court to give evidence when required.
• Report incidents accurately and promptly; support travel and mileage claims.

Job description

M&S Store detective 45 hrs per week,. 5 days a week including weekends, Observe, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity in line with Theft Act.

Follow ASCONE process.

Work with SOC CCTV operators to Identify and stop offenders.

Liaison with the police forces and other crime prevention partners, in the areas you will be operating, will be key to keeping up to date with crime trends in the area.

Build local network to identify and disrupt crime.

Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.

Occasionally attend court to provide evidence.

All travel paid for. Public Transport and/or Car mileage

Location - Worthing Brighton Eastbourne. Must have own Transport and be flexible

Pay - £15.91

Candidate must have 5 years trackable working history in UK and a valid SIA front line license, As no two days at our client's regional stores are the same, you will need to be highly adaptable.

• You will remain calm under pressure and react quickly in challenging situations.
• Experience in a customer facing with a strong customer service background.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), preferably with a GCSE of equivalent in English
• Proactive and forward-thinking approach to work, demonstrating adaptability and a desire to improve on existing working practices.
• Strongly self-motivated individual possessing a can do attitude and a drive to learn.
• A positive, outgoing personality looking to be part of a strong and established team.
• It is essential that you are SIA licenced - store detective experience is highly desirable.
• Exceptional observational skills; ability to handle sensitive situations and to make quick decisions.
• Confidence to challenge people when necessary.
