Job summary

STILL Materials Handling in Exeter is seeking a Workshop Engineer to diagnose and repair faults on a range of forklift trucks and automated handling equipment in our workshop.

You will perform preventative maintenance, service electrical and hydraulic systems, and work with a supportive team to deliver high workmanship standards. A valid forklift licence and a proactive, customer-focused approach are valued, with training and progression provided.

Qualifications

• We are seeking mechanically biased engineers with experience in materials handling or related industries.
• Experience with electrical systems and hydraulics is highly advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with customers and colleagues.
• An NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
• Confident using IT equipment and digital systems for diagnostics and parts ordering.

Responsibilities

• Find, diagnose, and rectify faults on STILL forklifts and related equipment in the Workshop.
• Undertake preventative maintenance and participate in servicing activities.
• Maintain effective communication with customers and colleagues, ensuring high workmanship.
• Work independently or as part of the wider engineering team to deliver outcomes.

Exciting Career Opportunity as a Workshop Engineer at STILL Materials Handling in Exeter.

Join STILL Materials Handling, a global leader in forklift trucks and warehouse equipment, and become part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Working with everything from small pallet trucks, through to IC trucks, Reach Trucks and VNA trucks and automated trucks, you will be required to find, diagnose, and rectify faults, and undertake preventative maintenance on STILL forklifts and other material handling equipment within our Workshop

• 39.5 hour working week, generally 0800-1630, Mon-Thursday & 0800-1600 on Fridays

Tasks and Qualifications:

• We are seeking mechanically biased engineers, ideally with experience within the materials handling, automotive, plant, agricultural, or a related engineering industry.


• Experience working with electrical systems and/or hydraulics would be highly advantageous.


• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.


• An NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline is desirable, although not essential.


• Confident using IT equipment and digital systems, as technology is used extensively for record-keeping, diagnostics, and parts ordering.


• Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider engineering team.


• Highly organised, proactive, and self-motivated, with a positive, can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
