Job summary

STILL Materials Handling in the Cheltenham area is seeking a Field Service Engineer to diagnose and repair forklifts and other material handling equipment. This hands-on role combines problem-solving with preventative maintenance.

You will travel to customer sites, build strong relationships, and deliver exceptional support. A UK driving licence and experience as vehicle technicians or mechanical engineers is preferred; NVQ3 or equivalent is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience as vehicle technicians or mechanical engineers, especially forklift technicians, plant fitters or plant technicians.
• NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) qualification preferred, not essential.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and be able to work autonomously or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues on STILL forklifts and related equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine service checks to keep fleets running smoothly.
• Travel to various customer locations and provide exceptional on-site support.

• 39.5 hour working week, generally 0800-1630, Mon-Thursday & 0800-1600 on Fridays

Tasks and Qualifications:

We are interested in candidates with experience as vehicle technicians or mechanical engineers, particularly those who have worked as forklift technicians, plant fitters, plant technicians, or vehicle technicians. Experience with plant equipment, powered access equipment, agricultural machinery, motor vehicles, or industrial cleaners is highly desirable. Ideally you will have an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) qualification, although this is not essential We use the latest technology to keep accurate records and place orders, therefore being comfortable using IT equipment is essential You will need to hold a full UK driving license As a STILL engineer you will need to be comfortable working autonomously and within a team Bring your expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment to excellence, and we’ll provide the tools and support to help you succeed.
