Workplace Classification: Hybrid - This position requires onsite presence up to 3 times per week at our Charlotte or Austin Technical Centers.
The Team: GM’s Motorsports Software team develops cutting-edge IT software solutions for motorsports, enabling innovative interactions between GM Global Engineering, GM Motorsports, and our Race teams, including NASCAR, IndyCar, and IMSA.
The Role: The Staff Software Engineer provides technical leadership and hands-on software development, focusing on scalable cloud systems, solution architecture, and building motorsports software to give GM a competitive edge in racing and vehicle development.
Responsibilities include leading development teams, designing modern application architectures, collaborating across teams, and ensuring smooth project delivery.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, extensive experience with CFD, microservices, cloud platforms, and software development best practices, along with strong communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, experience in aerodynamics, AI & ML, VR frameworks, data streaming, cross-platform development, UI/UX design, and leadership experience.
