A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking dedicated nurses to assess and care for both pre-operative and post-operative patients. Your role will involve managing patient admissions and discharges while ensuring high-quality care in line with Trust objectives. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for pre-op and post-op patients. Provide an efficient admission and discharge process. Participate in initiatives to enhance patient care and deliver Trust objectives in line with the staff charter. Promote health and wellbeing and deliver safe, appropriate care. Care for patients pre- and post-operatively, preparing them for their surgical procedures, and support them after surgery. Use systems employed by the Trust such as the Nerve Centre, EPMA and Lorenzo. Duties will include medication rounds, personal and wound care. Involved in changes to care and the implementation of these changes and in discharging patients. Provide direct nursing care and assist patients to meet their activities of daily living requirements. Plan and manage own workload against the needs of the patient. Assist management with the running of the ward and participate with audits and Trust initiatives. Conduct medication rounds including intravenous medication. Keep up to date with mandatory training. Participate in emergency care if patients on the ward need it, including cardiac arrest, fire or security issues. Provide wound care and manage care around surgical procedures. Assist with mobility, hygiene, toileting, eating and drinking.
