Job summary

Go North West Limited is seeking a dynamic Staff Manager to lead our operations function and drive excellent experiences for customers and colleagues at one of our Greater Manchester depots.

This full-time, permanent role offers a chance to step up in a fast-paced environment with franchising on the horizon, focusing on leadership, change management and safety. You will deputise for the Operations Manager when required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated supervisory/management experience in an operational environment (preferably unionised).
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels.
• Experience delivering change initiatives, service mobilisation or performance improvement across teams/sites.
• Proficient in producing clear reports, analysing data and communicating findings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operations function to deliver excellent customer and colleague experiences.
• Provide coaching and development to team members to drive performance.
• Possess the willingness to deputise for the Operations Manager when required.
• Drive change initiatives and continuous improvement across sites.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including trade union representatives.

Go North West is looking for a dynamic Staff Manager to help lead our operations function and provide the very best experiences for our customers and colleagues.

If you're a manager looking for a new challenge, or an experienced supervisor looking to move into a more senior role, this full time, permanent opportunity to join our team could be for you.

The position will be based at one of our Greater Manchester depots.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

• Proven experience at supervisory or management level within an operational environment, ideally within a unionised setting
• Experience supporting change initiatives, service mobilisation, or performance improvement activity across teams or sites
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence colleagues at all levels
• Demonstrated ability to deliver sustained high performance and drive continuous improvement
• Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, performance indicators, company procedures, and workforce agreements
• Confident using Microsoft Office and operational systems to produce clear reports, analyse data, and communicate effectively
• Experience building and maintaining positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including trade union representatives
