Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking a Specification Sales Manager for Façade Glazing & Curtain Walling in London and Home Counties. You will promote aluminium façade systems to architectural practices and assist with specifications, while also managing contractor relationships to protect specs.

The ideal candidate has field sales experience in aluminium systems, strong architectural contacts, and a hungry new-business mindset.

Qualifications

• Field sales experience in aluminium systems, facades or fenestration is highly desirable.
• Contacts within architectural practices are the key to success.
• Willingness to target larger projects and manage spec-driven opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Field sales role promoting aluminium facade systems, curtain walling and doors/windows.
• Allocate ~90% of time to London architectural practices and proposals.
• Manage ~10% of time with main contractor relationships to protect specifications.
• Develop a project bank and achieve yearly sales targets.
• Engage on education, high-rise, commercial office and healthcare projects.

Job Title: Specification Sales Manager - Façade Glazing & Curtain Walling

Industry Sector: Aluminium Systems, Aluminium Fabricators, Architects, Curtain Walling, Windows, Doors, Façade Systems, Façade Glazing, Fenestration, Cladding, Building Envelope, Architects, Main Contractors, Aluminium Fabricators, Installers and Specification Sales

Area to be covered: London & Home Counties

Remuneration: £65,000-£70,000 Neg. + Up to 30% Bonus

The role of the Specification Sales Manager - Façade Glazing & Curtain Walling will involve:

• Field sales position, promoting a manufactured range of aluminium systems (façade systems, curtain walling and aluminium doors & windows)
• 90% of your time selling into London architectural practices, assisting with proposals and specifications, providing information etc. whilst also managing (10% of your time) main contractor relationships to protect the specifications
• 100's of architectural practices to target
• Inheriting an area with a project bank of circa £15m
• Tasked with achieving £2-3m sales in the next full sales year (as well growing the project bank by approx.. £10m)
• Average order value to our client (metal) £200,00-£1m (Projects sizes up to £20m)
• Access to a healthy volume of inbound enquiries
• Typical projects include unit factories, small developments, our client is hoping this person can target larger projects within education, high rise residential, commercial office, healthcare and education

The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager - Façade Glazing & Curtain Walling with:

• Ideally field sales experience within an aluminium system house or design/ estimating experience within the aluminium market
• Contacts within architectural practices is the key
• Also open to any glazing, fenestration or curtain wall sales experience either through specification to architects and main contractors
• Roofing, cladding, rainscreen and façade backgrounds may all be of interest
• Open to both field sales and sales estimating experience
• Hungry new business attitude
• Technical aptitude although full training will be provided
• IT literate, CRM proficient
• Specific knowledge of curtain walling and aluminium doors & windows is not essential but may be useful
• Ability to sell on quality over price
