Mitchell Maguire is seeking a Specification Sales Manager for Façade Glazing & Curtain Walling, covering Scotland and the North East. You will promote aluminium facade systems and manage relationships with architectural practices, façade consultants, and fabricators.

The role targets £1.5m annual sales, with 70% time supporting spec teams and 30% account-managing 8-10 fabricator/install partner accounts, aiming to grow this to 7-8 more next year.

Qualifications

• Field sales promoting a manufactured range of aluminium systems (facade systems, curtain walling and aluminium doors & windows).
• Ideal candidate will have a network in architectural practices and façade consultants with a sales focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to architectural practices and façade consultants, assisting with proposals and specifications.
• Manage 8-10 core aluminium fabricator/installer accounts with growth targets.
• Inheriting an area with turnover circa £1m and aiming to achieve £1.5m in the next full sales year.
• Sell on quality over price and develop relationships with main contractors to protect specifications.

Area to be covered: Scotland and North East

Remuneration: £55,000-£65,000 Neg. + Up to 30% Bonus

The role of the Specification Sales Manager – Façade Glazing & Curtain Walling will involve:

• Field sales position, promoting a manufactured range of aluminium systems (façade systems, curtain walling and aluminium doors & windows)
• 70% of your time providing support to architectural practices and façade consultants, assisting with proposals and specifications, providing information etc. whilst also managing main contractor relationships to protect the specifications
• 30% of your time account managing 8-10 core aluminium fabricator/ installer accounts (5 actively spending) with a view to growing this number by 7-8 next year
• Inheriting an area with a turnover of circa £1m
• Tasked with achieving £1.5m sales in the next full sales year
• Average order value to our client (metal) £150,00-£500,000 (Projects sizes £8m-£10m)
• Access to a healthy volume of inbound enquiries
• Typical projects include unit factories, small developments, our client is hoping this person can target larger projects within education, high rise residential, commercial office, healthcare and education

The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager – Façade Glazing & Curtain Walling with:

• Ideally field sales experience within an aluminium system house or design/ estimating experience within an aluminium fabricator
• Also open to any glazing, fenestration or curtain wall sales experience either through specification to architects and main contractors or fabricator/ installers
• Architectural network is highly desirable along with façade consultants
• Roofing, cladding, rainscreen and façade backgrounds may all be of interest
• Open to both field sales and sales estimating experience
• Hungry new business attitude
• Technical aptitude although full training will be provided
• IT literate, CRM proficient
• Specific knowledge of curtain walling and aluminium doors & windows is not essential but may be useful
• Ability to sell on quality over price
