Job summary

Reed is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEND school in the Witham area, Essex. The role involves supporting pupils aged 4-19 with autism and complex needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, within a highly structured, nurturing environment.

Based in Witham, the position is full-time, permanent, 32.5 hours per week during term-time, with an ASAP start. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored learning activities and progress can be tracked through

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or SEND.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing attitude.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism, learning disabilities and communication needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering highly personalised learning activities.
• Encourage development of social, emotional and independence skills.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement through structured approaches.
• Support sensory needs and adapt activities as required.
• Collaborate with therapists, teachers and support staff to deliver consistent support.
