Job summary

Reed Education is recruiting an SEN Teacher for a specialist school on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border. The role offers a 40-hour week, full-time permanent contract, and a salary of £32,916 - £49,232 (M1-UPS2).

You will deliver a personalised curriculum for students aged 6–19 with complex needs in a supportive, therapy-rich environment. Applicants should hold PGCE/QTS or equivalent, show ongoing professional development, and demonstrate strong teamwork and leadership in SEN settings.

Qualifications

  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (essential).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Strong understanding of the Teacher Standards.
  • Experience or knowledge of SEN, especially sensory-led and complex-needs curriculums.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, guide and support other adults in the classroom.
  • Reflective, resilient and dedicated to improving outcomes for young people.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, tailored lessons that meet individual learning needs.
  • Foster an engaging, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, class leaders and other professionals.
  • Contribute to curriculum development to ensure it meets diverse learner needs.
  • Lead and manage classroom support staff effectively.
  • Assess, track and report on pupil progress with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Participate in physical intervention and personal care routines where required.
