Job summary

Reed is seeking compassionate Teaching Assistants to join the SEN unit of a well-established primary school. You will support pupils with social communication differences, help develop and implement IEPs, and work closely with teachers and parents to enhance learning outcomes.

The role offers diverse daily responsibilities and opportunities for professional development within an inclusive school environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in an SEN setting.
  • Understanding of social communication differences such as autism.
  • Patience, resilience, and compassionate approach.
  • Excellent communication skills; familiarity with communication aids is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with social communication differences under SEN guidance.
  • Assist in development and implementation of IEPs for students.
  • Facilitate social skills development through structured activities.
  • Use communication aids to enhance pupil interaction and learning.
  • Monitor and support pupils' emotional and behavioural needs, providing timely support.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and professionals to promote pupil progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and incidents.
