Job summary

Reed is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday with a permanent contract after a successful 12-week temporary period.

You will support pupils in classroom and targeted activities, help develop independence and communication, and work with teachers and therapists to track progress. Salary is £100 to £130 per day depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and resilient individual.
• Experience working with children, young people, or adults with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting learners with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils within the classroom and during specialist learning activities.
• Encourage independence, communication and social development.
• Assist with individual learning programmes and behaviour support strategies.
• Help create a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and families to support pupil progress.
