Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a specialist resource base in a primary school in the North Bristol area. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning and participate in wider school life.

You will work closely with teachers and support staff to foster emotional regulation, communication and social development, while building trusting relationships and supporting individual learning journeys.

Are you passionate about supporting children with SEND to feel confident, included and successful at school?

We are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist resource base within a welcoming primary school in North Bristol. This is a full-time contract, offering the opportunity to become a consistent and important part of the children's school experience.

The Role

Working within the Resource Base, you will support pupils with additional needs through a combination of 1:1 support, small-group activities and personalised learning.

You will work closely with teaching and support staff to:

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Support children's communication, emotional regulation and social development
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
• Adapt activities to meet individual needs
• Support pupils to access learning and participate in wider school life
• Provide a calm, consistent and nurturing approach
• Celebrate progress and achievements, however big or small

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
