Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking Learning Support Assistants to provide 1:1 and small-group support in Bristol primary schools across KS1 and KS2. You will assist teachers, foster confidence and engagement, and support children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH.

The role offers a September start with full-time hours and included CPD. All applicants should have relevant experience in education or youth settings, excellent communication and teamwork, and a DBS check (Enhanced) or

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, SEND, care, youth work, or similar setting.
  • Passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patient, reliable and adaptable.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery.
  • Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence, and engagement.
  • Supporting children with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language and other SEND.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

Learning Support Assistant

Some children don't need someone to do the work for them. They need someone who believes in them, understands how they learn, and gives them the confidence to shine.

Primary school's across Bristol are looking for dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistants to provide tailored support for pupils across KS1 and KS2.

This is a genuinely rewarding opportunity to make a real difference. You'll build a trusted relationship, helping them face each school day with confidence, consistency and encouragement.

Your responsbilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery.
  • Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence, and engagement.
  • Supporting children with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Langauge and other SEND.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Haveexperience working with children or young people in a school, SEND, care, youth work, or similar setting.
  • Are passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Are patient, reliable, and adaptable.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to apply.
